BELLBRAE Primary School’s emergency shelter building will undergo major works during a statewide maintenance blitz.<\/p>\n
A total of $225,000 in state government funding for maintenance works has been allocated to the school, $200,000 of which will fund upgrades of its Shelter in Place building designed to protect students and staff during an emergency.<\/p>\n
The remaining funds will be used to address other high priority maintenance tasks identified in the school’s Rolling Facilities Evaluation, including external surface revarnishing, fascia repainting, handrail repair, wall repainting and wall repair.<\/p>\n
The school’s roofing issues will also be addressed through the allocation of $10,000.<\/p>\n
“This investment ensures that Bellbrae Primary is safe, comfortable and well-maintained \u2013 giving Surf Coast students the best possible settings to learn and thrive in,” South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman said.<\/p>\n
The school is one of 111 Victorian schools to receive a share of $11.24 million for Term 3 maintenance funding that also includes an ongoing program to inspect, repair or replace solar power systems across 737 school campuses.<\/p>\n
“This program is about ensuring that every Victorian school is well maintained and safe to provide the best possible environment for students to learn in,” Education Minister Natalie Hutchins said.<\/p>\n
