she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83825\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83825\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-83825\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-86.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-86.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-86-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83825\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Now based in LA, Harriette St Ledger lived in Torquay for 15 years.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Aged 19, Ms St Ledger said her journey from the Surf Coast to the movie world mecca that&#8217;s home to Hollywood has been &#8220;expansive and inspiring.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I lived in Torquay for 15 years, so going from such a small coastal town to Los Angeles has been a big transition\u2026 the amount of opportunities for people in creative fields is never ending.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The film targets the restrictive abortion laws in some states in America and follows a young girl called Margot &#8211; played by St Ledger &#8211; as she&#8217;s stuck between two very different opinions while she waits for the results of a pregnancy test.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-83826 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-85.png?_t=1673239060\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-85.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/In-Article-85-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><br \/>\nSet in Indiana, Margot grapples with the advice from her activist and feminist friend Joe \u2013 played by actor Odalis Rojas \u2013 who suggests a back alley abortion, and her other friend Jane \u2013 played by Ms Johnson \u2013 who as a conservative Catholic urges her to keep the baby or put it up for adoption.<\/p>\n<p>The film is backed by production companies Diversity Pictures and Ryde Entertainment and has experienced writers, directors, cinemaphotographers and producers like Jessica Orcsik, Kate O&#8217;Neill and Robbie Ryde on board.<\/p>\n<p>The team are due to start filming within weeks and are over halfway to securing the budget through crowdfunding that is needed to see the project through to its final stages and screening in December.<\/p>\n<p>To support the project, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/bitly.ws\/vNCF\">bitly.ws\/vNCF<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE overturning of a legal right to an abortion in the United States of America has inspired a former Surf Coast resident to make a film about its impact on women&#8217;s rights.
