{"id":8420,"date":"2018-02-28T07:53:12","date_gmt":"2018-02-27T20:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=8420"},"modified":"2018-03-05T16:43:40","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T05:43:40","slug":"teams-shortlisted-point-grey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/teams-shortlisted-point-grey\/","title":{"rendered":"Teams shortlisted for Point Grey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) has shortlisted four designs following the Point Grey Architectural Design Expression of Interest (EOI) process.<\/p>\n<p>Point Grey, a popular precinct located to the south of the Lorne town centre, is comprised of community, recreational and commercial activities including the pier, restaurant, Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club, boat launching, fishing, barbecues and recreational areas.<\/p>\n<p>GORCC has worked closely with the Lorne and Surf Coast community to redevelop the Point Grey \u2013 Lorne Precinct and received 39 submissions, which were reviewed by a five-person jury.<\/p>\n<p>The four teams whose designs have been shortlisted are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edition Office, McGregor Coxall, Foolscap Studio, Finding Infinity<\/li>\n<li>Kerstin Thompson Architects with Baracco and Wright Architects<\/li>\n<li>NMBW Architects &amp; Architecture Associates with GLAS Urban and Vera Moller<\/li>\n<li>Searle x Waldron, Edwards Moore and Bush Projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These teams will now compete in a single-stage design competition.<\/p>\n<p>The jurors included award-winning architects John Wardle and Kristin Green, GORCC chief executive officer Richard Davies, Bronwen Hamilton from the Office of the Victorian Government Architect, and Monash University manager of campus design, Jocelyn Chiew.<\/p>\n<p>The judging panel said all submissions were of a high calibre with those shortlisted scoring highest across the four evaluation criteria: the competitors multidisciplinary capabilities; understanding of the brief; their proposed approach and methodology including community and stakeholder consultation; and details of other relevant projects completed by members of the team.<\/p>\n<p>GORCC chairman Ken Northwood said he was pleased with the quality of those shortlisted with teams to take part in a single-stage design competition that ends in March, with the winner to be announced in April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) has shortlisted four designs following the Point Grey Architectural Design Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
