CONSERVATION Volunteers Australia (CVA) is looking for people to sign up to three Green Army projects scheduled to start in the region within the next few months.
\nThe projects are protecting and enhancing heritage and environment on the Great Ocean Road in Torquay, habitat restoration and pest animal exclusion works at Lara\u2019s Serendip Sanctuary, and coastal dune and adjoining wetland habitat linkage works in Geelong.
\nCVA project officer Jane Shearer said the nine participants needed for each project were required to be 17-24 years old and Australian citizens or have permanent residency.
\n\u201cThrough the Green Army projects, participants gain practical conservation experience, training units from certificate I and II Conservation and Land Management and a fortnightly training allowance for the duration of the project.
\n\u201cThe program has had great success in the region so far and we are looking forward to engaging more of our young people in local conservation and community projects.\u201d
\nThe 20 to 23 week program runs for about 30 hours each week.
