In addition to Healy taking up the position of president, local finance services firm UFinancial has jumped on board as the club’s primary sponsor for the Torquay junior program.<\/p>\n
Healy has been on Torquay’s committee for the past eight years, serving three years as a general committee member before acting as Jenny Wood’s right hand for the following five years.<\/p>\n
He also moved to Torquay 13 years ago with his wife Cassie and has engrained himself in the community of the Torquay Football Club ever since.<\/p>\n
“We will look to really enhance our junior programs for our boys and girls teams and giving as many kids as possible the chance to play the best footy they can,” he added.<\/p>\n
“We really try to push our juniors to not only become great players, but also to become great people, and understand the importance of volunteering.<\/p>\n
“It will continue to act as a catalyst for the club moving forward, hopefully for the next 10 to 15 years.”<\/p>\n
Joining Healy at the helm of the Tigers is vice-president Tim Carson, secretary Melissa Pitt and treasurer Kieran Liston.<\/p>\n
