DYNAMIC sister duo Ella and Evie Dorman have lost their locks for charity, raising a whopping $1,332 for Challenge and its direct support for children and their families dealing with cancer.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, surrounded by close friends and family, the Torquay pair completed their fundraising campaign with Evie (nine years old) cutting her hair short after growing it for three years, and older sister Ella (14 years old) shaving her head completely.<\/p>\n

The cause is one that is remarkably close to the girls’ hearts, having seen older cousin Esther battle with a brain tumour and cancer treatment in 2018.<\/p>\n

The sisters hoped the gesture would raise awareness and continue to make life easier for those younger children and their families who have been touched by cancer.<\/p>\n

Ella and Evie’s mother Kelly said she was incredibly proud of her daughters’ efforts over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

Evie and Ella’s hair was cut by Torquay hairdresser Jayne, who volunteered her time for the good cause.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

“I’m incredibly proud of the girls, it’s bizarre to see them with the shorter hair but very cool,” Kelly said.<\/p>\n

“Both girls watched my niece Esther lose her hair through her cancer treatment; she had long hair like Evie did.<\/p>\n

“I guess that inspired Evie to do the big cut and then Ella jumped on a couple of weeks ago to support the cause and went the full shave!<\/p>\n

“When I asked my sister what the best support was for Esther and their family during her cancer treatment, she said Challenge, which made us choose to support them.”<\/p>\n

Kelly shared her niece Esther was very proud of the girls for persevering with their fundraising and doing the shave.<\/p>\n

Both Evie and Ella said it would take them a bit to get used to their new hairdos but were smiling from ear to ear after seeing their new stylish cuts.<\/p>\n

They were also thrilled that their fundraising goal of $1,000 had been achieved and hoped the community would continue to donate to the cause.<\/p>\n
