More artists than ever are taking part in the highly anticipated Lorne Lions Easter Art show this year.
\nThe annual show will be on over Easter weekend, coinciding with the Lorne Sculpture Biennale and featuring works in a variety of media by artists from all around Australia.
\nSome of the artists exhibiting this year include crowd favourites Sally Ford and Jan Dick, and more than 100 artists in total are taking part.
\nNow in its 45th year, the art show is a major fundraiser for the Lorne Lions Club and organiser Bernadette Bliss said following the bushfires in the region, now is the time for people to show their support.
\n\u201cLast year we raised around $17,000, and this year we\u2019ve donated more than $80,000 to the communities affected by fire in Wye River and Separation Creek, so we\u2019re really trying to build our resources back up.
\n\u201cAs well as bushfire relief, we\u2019ve also been offering our regular support services to the Lorne community.
\n\u201cWe\u2019d love to see as many people as possible getting involved by coming and seeing the exhibition.\u201d
\nThe Lorne Lions Club Easter Art Show is on from March 24-27 from 10am-5pm, and on March 28 from 10am-12pm at the Lorne Senior Citizens Centre, Otway Street Lorne.
\nAdmission is $5, with all proceeds going to local Lions projects.
\nThe gala opening is on Thursday March 24 from 7pm, tickets are $20 and include a glass of champagne and supper.
