THE Festival of Colours made a colourful return to Torquay’s Esplanade on Sunday with more than 1000 visitors painting Elephant Walk in an enthusiastic rainbow of powder.<\/p>\n
Close to 1,100 people attended the event with festival organiser Keshava Jenkins saying the main messages on the day were embrace and happiness.<\/p>\n
“It was an extremely positive day,” Mr Jenkins said.<\/p>\n
“There were a lot of other events on simultaneously, so to see our patrons stay loyal, that was very exciting for us.<\/p>\n
“We just love being a part of the Surf Coast community and being able to provide such a positive event in a time with so much going on at the moment.<\/p>\n
“People just need a bit of relief, and we are grateful that we get to help out in the way that we can.”<\/p>\n
Every hour, a “mass throw” of the powder supplied at the Festival of Colours was conducted, which provided most of the colouring throughout the day.<\/p>\n
Mr Jenkins confirmed the Festival of Colours will return in 2024 on the last weekend of February.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
