Moorabool Shire, Michael Ray
Occupation: I’ve had a diverse career across leisure and recreation management, journalism, and sports conditioning, all focused on community engagement. Early on, I managed multi-million-dollar leisure facilities, overseeing operations and budgets for local councils and not-for-profit organisations like the YMCA and Royal Life Saving Society. This gave me valuable experience in financial management and project oversight. As a news anchor for an online platform, I gained strong communication skills and a deep understanding of community storytelling. Additionally, I’ve been an AFL strength and conditioning coach, continuing my involvement in sports and fitness, which remains a passion. These experiences have shaped my approach to leadership, community service, and teamwork.
Resides: I live in Bacchus Marsh with my family.
