A flourishing future at St Brigid’s Primary School, Ballan
EACH morning, as the sun rises over St Brigid’s Primary School, the gates open to a sea of bright smiles, energetic chatter and students bursting with enthusiasm for the day ahead.
Established in 1964, St Brigid’s Primary School is located in Ballan and has a strong connection to Ireland’s Saint Brigid of Kildare, whose kindness, compassion and integrity continue to inspire our school vision today.
With a rich history and cultural heritage, we have grown in physical size over the years into a vibrant and flourishing learning community that now welcomes 136 students – a remarkable 45 per cent increase within a two-year period.
At St Brigid’s, we believe that education is a collaborative effort between the school, families and the wider community.

In partnership with families, we strive to develop within each child, values, skills and knowledge which will assist each child’s journey through life.
We continuously foster the learning dispositions of bravery, collaboration, curiosity, perseverance and resilience in both students and adults alike.
We are committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum in a nurturing, inclusive and faith-driven learning environment. Our approach prioritises the holistic development of each child, fostering both academic excellence and personal growth.
To ensure meaningful engagement in the learning process, we implement evidence-informed and high-impact teaching strategies. We continuously strive to create an enriching educational experience that empowers students while instilling values of respect, integrity and lifelong learning.
Our school offers outstanding specialist programs. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) ignites innovation and critical thinking as students design, create and solve real-world problems.

Our performing arts program brings music, drama and dance to life, allowing students to express themselves and find their voice. In visual arts, creativity knows no bounds, with students producing breathtaking works that adorn our hallways and inspire everyone who walks through our doors. Physical education fosters teamwork, perseverance and healthy habits.
At St Brigid’s, Auslan is embedded into daily learning through an innovative approach called ‘Teachers as Co-Learners’.
In this model, teachers and students learn Auslan alongside each other, creating a collaborative and supportive environment that values shared discovery and continuous growth.
As we look to the future, our vision is bold and bright. With continued growth, we are planning for expanded learning spaces that supports innovative teaching and deeper community partnerships that enrich student opportunities.
We see a future where our students are confident, capable changemakers, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving world.
