AN arts group has poured their hearts into works which are now on display in Lerderderg Library.

Since April, Bacchus Marsh Arts Community (BMAC) Gallery has asked for artists to submit decorated wooden hearts for the Everybody Has a Heart exhibition, and last Thursday, 88 submissions were hung up in the Moor Art Space.

All the works have the same wooden base, but tell very different stories.

BMAC Gallery secretary Bev Baker said the group was thrilled to see so many entries in the showcase.

“There’s so much, and such a variety of works that people submitted. People really got on-board with this exhibition,” she said.

“We’ve still got quite a few to come actually. It might be hard to fit them all.”

Designs created by the local artists include a heart-shaped box of chocolates, a piece honouring suffragette Vida Goldstein, and many celebrations of love and nature.

“We’re very happy. There are some for sale for as little as $15, and others that are really intricate that are $120, $130,” Ms Baker said.

All the works have the same wooden base, but tell very different stories.

BMAC Gallery is also planning a Meet The Artist day at the Moor Art Space for people to chat to the creative people who submitted entries, but a date and time are yet to be confirmed.
