Celebrate the new year with creativity
THE new year will see Bacchus Marsh Arts Community Gallery, or BMAC, begin a fresh program of activities.
There will be a range of workshops, meetings, challenges and exhibitions throughout the year, with any local artists welcome to join the group.
The first meeting of the year will be held on the third Tuesday of February at Lerderdeg Library and will focus on making coiled baskets.
Participants are asked to bring a large needle for sewing, some fabric to tear into strips, and wool or embroidery threads.
There will also be a series of challenges for the exhibition space throughout 2025 including creating round artworks, constructing a bag or making birds.
“We are looking forward to next year,” BMAC president Alison Durham said.
“Each meeting we are going to have an activity or just an opportunity to come and chat.”
Ms Durham encouraged local artists to join the group so they can collaborate and learn.
“It’s just a group of artists and we’re sharing our knowledge,” she said.
“You actually get inspired by other people’s work and we’re all willing to share what we’ve learnt at other various workshops.”
