CLASSICAL music is coming to Ballan once again as local Ballan cellist, Miranda Brockman, teams up with her Melbourne Symphony Orchestra colleagues to present another tantalising program of music for cello, piano, flute and bassoon.

Miranda came to live in Ballan when she joined the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra over 25 years ago and has been bringing chamber music concerts to local audiences regularly ever since. Over the years, these concerts have become iconic events that often sell out due to their popularity.

Joining her for the upcoming concert on Sunday 25 May at 3pm will be her long-time friend and musical partner, pianist Kenji Fujimura. Fujimura has served as head of keyboard studies at Monash University for many years and now teaches piano at Melbourne University.

The concert will feature another world premiere composition by Fujimura and past audiences have grown to love these charming and beautiful items from Kenji.

Elise Millman.

Wendy Clarke is Associate Principal Flute in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra while Elise Millman holds the position of Associate Principal Bassoon. Both these musicians are making their third appearance in Ballan.

Besides Fujimura’s composition, the concert will feature an exciting range of works from the exquisite elegance of Handel to the passion of tangos, with many offerings in between.
