Connect at Phoenix Rising festival
A BOUTIQUE three-day festival that has been locked in for the weekend beginning Friday 4 March at Phoenix Park is all about unity, connection and consciousness.
As well as a lineup of disc jockeys playing house, afro-house, progressive-house, melodic-tech, tribal-house, world music and more, Phoenix Rising festival will have a family-run pizza night on the Friday evening, a Sunday community breakfast, market stalls on the Saturday, and workshops.
Festival founder and DJ Lim Jeka of One Tribe events said he has kept the fledgling festival’s number of tickets reasonably low in order to create a safe space where people feel welcome.
“For us, it’s really important that we’re building our core base and we do it slowly,” he said.
“This is much more than a festival or a music event, so we’re treading very slowly and cautiously to build the right vibe.

“I want people to express themselves, to be free and be who they want to be.
“It’s not the kind of music where people rock it all day and all night.
“Our culture is more about people coming together – it’s not all about the dance floor. It’s about community, the vibe, and people enjoying their surroundings.”
Phoenix Rising takes place between Friday 4 April and Sunday 6 April at Phoenix Park, Ballan.
Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
All general admission tickets include caravan/tent access to powered sites and cabins, and shared dorm rooms are available with various configurations.
