BACCHUS Marsh residents will have the opportunity to buy local while getting a head start on their Christmas shopping at the next Pop Up Collective market at The Village shopping centre on Thursday 21 November.

Exclusive products on sale from makers will include crochet and knitted items, baby clothes, jewellery, candles, scrunchies, charcuterie boards and artworks, to name a few.

Organiser Bianca Murgovski said the market is all about community spirit and supporting local vendors as well as offering handmade goods you won’t find anywhere else.

“The biggest thing is that nothing is mass produced – there might only be 10 of its kind, which is great, and instead of going to a supermarket, you’re supporting your neighbours and you’re connecting with them,” she said.

Ms Murgovski said the market also represents “a great opportunity for different stallholders to collaborate and work together on the day.”

“When you run a small business you’re not backed by a corporation so you wear a lot of different hats, and the feedback I get from the vendors is they love connecting with each other and helping each other out,” she said.

The Pop Up Collective market at The Village shopping centre takes place on Thursday 21 November from 9am to 3pm.

Stallholders can also apply for their own table via the Melbourne Cheeky Monkey Market website.

Single stalls including trestle table hire and public liability insurance cost $75 for the day, while double stalls including trestle table hire and insurance are $145 for the day.
