Empowerment workshop for women to plant a seed
A WOMEN’S only four-hour empowerment workshop coming up in Bacchus Marsh will give participants the opportunity to explore with other like minded individuals ways to assert themselves, feel empowered and have their voices heard.
The workshop was designed and will be led by qualified counsellor, sexologist, clinical supervisor, university lecturer and facilitator Traci Tucker, who said it took her over a year to put together.
“There’s a lot of experience behind this program and I’m really proud of it,” she said.
Ms Tucker said the intensity of the workshop means participants “might not remember everything,” but the point is to plant a seed and to know that change and improvement is possible.
“It’s for them to know that they’re not on their own,” she said.
“Most women, even if they haven’t been in an abusive relationship, have felt inferior (at times) throughout their life, submissive or second best – the old-school mentality.
“Anyone can make a change and improve their lives, but a lot of people just don’t know the direction to go in.
“They can be the amazing, wonderful women that they are and achieve anything they want to and break the cycle,” Ms Tucker added.
“They don’t need to be that submissive person anymore.
“That seed, if you give it water and you give it nutrition, it’ll grow.”
The Women Empowerment Workshop – Women Only takes place on Saturday 7 December from midday to 4pm at Healing Mindz Counselling & Supervision in Main Street Bacchus Marsh.
Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.
