THE next edition of BacchChat at Lerderderg Library on Saturday 7 December will feature a special festive variety show directed by Shannon Nicholson, with members from local community theatre group Moonlite Theatre performing.

The free two-hour extravaganza will feature “hilarious short scenes, side-splitting improv and magical musical numbers” to boot.

Moonlite Theatre vice president Tim Hawthorne said the show will be a good two hours of entertainment for the community.

“There’ll be plenty of fun and laughter, all with a bit of a Christmas theme,” he said.

“As it’s a variety show there’ll be a couple of musical acts, including people playing ukuleles and other instruments, so there’s something for everyone.

“If you’re looking for a couple of hours of fun and want to get involved in a bit of audience participation, this is the perfect opportunity. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.”

Mr Hawthorne said it’s something the troupe enjoys doing, especially as a way of giving back to the community that has supported them throughout the year.

BacchChat: Yule Laugh Out Loud with Moonlite Theatre takes place at Lerderderg Library on Saturday 7 December from 10am to midday.

Moonlite Theatre is open to all community members interested in theatre.

The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2pm to 4pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall in Gisborne Road, Bacchus Marsh.
