NATIONAL Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) Kids on Tour will be coming to Moorabool Shire in January with free workshops and activities developed in collaboration with artists.

On Wednesday 14 January from 10am until 11am, there will be a range of activities at Ballan Library inspired by the NGV exhibition Let’s Party! Fashion for Kids, designed by Danielle Brustman.

Participants can make a party hat, draw their own celebration cake, and take part in party games.

Activities by contemporary artist Olaf Breuning will be on offer on Thursday 15 January from 10am until 11am at Lerderderg Library and Friday 16 January from 10am until 11am at Ballan Library.

There will be a chance to draw and learn about forest habitats, and a storytime session.

“What Kids on Tour is really about is bringing people together at their local community venue,” NGV community programs senior project coordinator Stephanie Pohlman said.

“It brings people together through making art and even if you don’t live close to the gallery or close to Melbourne, with Kids on Tour you can still experience some creative activities and the ideas of artists.”

The sessions are free and no bookings are required. To view all the tour venues, visit the NGV website.
