Rebecca Barnard to relive Joni Mitchell’s timeless hits
RELIVE Joni Mitchell’s timeless hits when Rebecca Barnard rocks Trentham’s Cosmopolitan Hotel.
Joined by special guest Peter Farnan, the Australian musician will bring Mitchell’s classic songs to life in an “intimate” performance.
Promoter Craig Johnston said the show would be perfect for any local music lover.
“There’s a lot for Joni fans and music lovers in general to enjoy,” he said.
“It’s a very intimate show with a great atmosphere, and you’ve got the performers up close and personal.”
Barnard, best known as the lead singer of the band Rebecca’s Empire has since forged a successful solo career playing gigs across the country.
Her debut solo album, Fortified, was released in 2006.
“Rebecca’s got such a decorated musical history,” Johnston said. “She’s an exceptionally talented, hilarious and engaging performer.”
Peter Farnan is one of the founding members of the band Boom Crash Opera.
“Pete has a fantastic history with Boom Crash opera, all of the talent they’re both bringing to this performance will be unreal,” Johnston said.
Johnston said there was always “something special” about playing for a regional audience.
“We regularly book venues across regional Victoria, and the atmosphere playing those shows is always fantastic,” he said.
Rebecca Barnard will play the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Trentham on 14 July. Tickets are available now via thecosmopolitanhotel.com.au/whats-on
