GET creative these winter school holidays with a range of activities at Ballan and Lerderderg libraries.
Children can create felt plushies, animal track stamps, Australian animals, Pokemon pet rocks, sock puppets and Minecraft magnets.
There will also be the opportunity to adopt a plush puppy, celebrate International Chess Day with a chess tournament and have hands-on interactions with native wildlife.
“As is the case every school holidays, our libraries will feature fantastic events and activities for the kids,” Moorabool Shire mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.
“There are many craft activities including a tween craft morning at Lerderderg Library and animal craft for younger kids at Ballan.
“An up-close wildlife encounter is so popular it’s already booked out but there are plenty more activities available.”
The school holidays coincide with NAIDOC Week, which runs from Sunday 6 to Sunday 13 July.
NAIDOC Week recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and children can take part in themed craft activities and learn about storytelling through art.
