Council has provided an update on the ‘Community Infrastructure Program’, with $145 million to be invested over five years.

In the 2021/22 Budget, seven projects have been funded including Peppertree Park (Maddingley), Harry Vallance Drive Reserve (Maddingley), Mill Park (Ballan), Guy Place Reserve (Maddingley), Jonathan Drive (Darley), Gordon Public Park, and Blackwood.

At Peppertree Park, the car park will be upgraded, the main path through the reserve will be formalised, and the amphitheatre will be modified.

Accessibility and amenity will be improved in a general upgrade to Harry Vallance Drive Reserve. Both are expected to be completed over the next six months.

Mill Park is also on the list with the entrance road, footpath improvements, 3×3 basketball court, and general landscaping are all planned for completion. Council has also awarded a contract for a skate park and pump track, with community consultation proposed in December to help decide a design. The current skate park is situated at the Ballan Recreation Reserve.

Gordon Public Park is also scheduled to receive a skate park and x 3×3 basketball court.
