A very merry Moorabool
MOORABOOL Shire’s Christmas program of events and activities gets underway and sparkling this weekend.
This Saturday 7 December, Santa will be visiting Ballan, meeting families near the library and Inglis Street between 9.30am and 12.30pm
On Friday 13 December, the Bacchus Marsh community will come together for a singalong with the Nelson-Six Christmas Band and the Ballan Choir at the Village Green from 3.30pm to 6pm, and on Saturday 14 December, the jolly man in red will reach the Lerderderg Library and Main Street to meet more of his fans from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
On Saturday 14 December the Nelson-Six Christmas Band and Ballan Choir singalong will be at the Ballan Farmers Market from 10am to 1pm, and then at the Gordon Hall on Wednesday 20 December for a special evening performance from 7pm to 9.30pm.
As part of a new Bring the Merry to Moorabool program, residents can register their home Christmas light displays to be featured on an interactive online map.
“Christmas is a special time of year, and we’re thrilled to bring so many wonderful events and displays to Moorabool. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come together, celebrate and share the holiday joy,” said Moorabool Shire mayor Cr Paul Tatchell.
“I encourage everyone to get involved, whether it’s by visiting the displays, participating in an event or adding their own lights to our interactive map.”
Festive displays are being set up around Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Greendale, Gordon and Blackwood, and the main streets of Bacchus Marsh and Ballan have new Christmas-themed banners and signage.
Until Thursday 19 December, Moorabool Libraries will host a range of events and sessions including craft workshops, special story times and the Moonlite Theatre Christmas Variety Show.
