MOORABOOL Shire Council is inviting community members to celebrate the International Day of People with Disability at an inclusive public event.
To be held at MARC Stadium on Wednesday 3 December from 10am until 12.30pm, there will be accessible sports and activities designed for all ages and abilities.
Attendees can also learn more about programs such as Specialist Hoops and Walking Football 4 Health, and free food will be provided.
“Residents and visitors can come and play their own way with a range of accessible sports and activities designed for all ages and abilities,” mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said.
“Have a go at pickleball, basketball, walking football and table tennis.
“There will also be a free pizza lunch. All ages, all abilities, everyone is welcome.
“Bookings are preferred and can be made on the events section of our website.”
International Day of People with Disability is a United Nations observed day held annually on 3 December.
The day aims to increase community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
