Pykes Creek Reservoir in Myrniong transformed to ‘Cochituate Lake’ in Massachusetts, USA for a feature film shoot today.

The reservoir was closed to the public on Friday, 17 January for the filming of ‘Road to Boston’, an Australian-South Korean co-production starring K-pop star Im Si-wan as Suh Yun-bok, the first Korean to win a major international sports competition – the Boston Marathon – since the end of World War II in 1945.

The scene filmed at Pykes Creek saw crowds in 1940s dress cheering on runners.

Shooting also took place in Lydiard Street, Ballarat and Ballarat Airport this week as part of the three-week shoot.

Although Victoria was blanketed in smoke haze earlier this week, film crew on-site said it hadn’t caused many interruptions as the haze doesn’t usually appear on camera.

The film is set to be released later this year.
