Exercise is being encouraged for just 30-minutes a day as part of the State governments Premiers Active April campaign.
But don’t do it alone, get a friend or a team together and take on some physical activity.
This year Moorabool Shire Council has created its own team. Council is encouraging their staff to get up and get moving during the day, whether it’s a lunchtime walk or even a walking meeting.
“We encourage all groups to think about starting their own team and registering their team on the website,” Council CEO Derek Madden said.
The Premier’s Active April encourages all Victorians to do 30-minutes of physical activity a day during April. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to getting more people active and healthy. The message is to ‘start small’ –every little bit counts. It’s an easy way to kick start a healthier you.
In 2019 the campaign also includes daily workout videos online to help motivate you.
Now featuring a mobile app for iOS and Android, you can log daily activity and track your progress on the go throughout the month. Plus, you can create and join teams, compare the progress of team members and win awesome prizes. You can also explore the all-new My Local to discover local offers, events and facilities available throughout Victoria.
Register today at activeapril.vic.gov.au and download the app to make recording your activities even easier.
Council is encouraging residents to ‘Like’ their ‘Moorabool Community and Recreation’ Facebook page and find out more about how you can get Active in April in Moorabool.
