You can’t get much more Australian then scorching heat, a barbecue breakfast, and Father Bob Maguire
Australia Day festivities for Moorabool are set to kick off before the heat kicks in on Friday.
Starting from 8am with a barbeque breakfast, Ballan will play home to this year’s event with the Mechanics’ Institute hosting a range of events.
The awards will, of course, feature, with some very worthy locals set to be recognised in a multitude of categories – keep an eye out for next week’s (30 January) edition of Moorabool News for the winners.
A citizenship ceremony as well as an affirmation ceremony are set to be held at the Institute also, but it’s Moorabool’s Australia Day Ambassador, Father Bob Maguire, who is set to prove a highlight for the day.
Locals are encouraged to come along to the event, starting from 8am.
Awards to be announced will be: Community Event of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year; Citizen of the Year and the Mayoral Award.
