IT IS STILL a couple of years away, but a local CWA branch is already raising funds for the state organisation’s centenary.

The CWA Bacchus Marsh Day Branch are doing their part to make sure the 100th anniversary celebrations for CWA Victoria aren’t half-baked, with a special batch of extra-large scones having been dished out on Wednesday.

“It’ll be 100 years of CWA Victoria in 2026. We’ve always loved being a part of the CWA here in Bacchus Marsh, it’s a fantastic organisation,” branch president June Webb said.

“All the friendships are fantastic, everyone’s friendly, we have wonderful times together. And all the while we’re helping other people, doing things for the community.”

The Bacchus Marsh Branch has been along for most of the journey, 92 years old itself.

“We’re always welcoming members, and we’re always open for anyone to come in for morning teas on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings from 9am until 12 noon,” Ms Webb said.

151 scones were sold by the Branch, raising $377.50 for CWA Victoria.
