FROZEN fun slid into Maddingley Park last weekend as Big Freeze in the Marsh returned.

As a fundraiser for the FightMND foundation, 13 members of the Bacchus Marsh community were sponsored to slip down a slide and into an ice-filled pool, all in costume.

The sliders raised $55,000, and the day’s total takings were $68,000, all to boost research into motor neurone disease.

“What we can do, with events like this, is raise the spirits of the people who are affected by MND,” said co-organiser, Ian ‘Macca’ McClure.

“We can raise the spirits, for a period of time, of their brothers and sisters, mothers, fathers, and grandparents

“We hope today, that’s what we’re doing for the people affected.”
