BALLAN CFA Fire Brigade is distributing a complimentary 2025 calendar to residents of the town and surrounds.

Community safety coordinator Mat Thorne said the aim of the calendar is to remind the community of the hard work and dedication of the brigade’s members, and to encourage them to donate to the organisation.

“Our brigade is 100 per cent volunteer-run, with dedicated members who are highly trained and equipped to respond to a variety of emergencies, including all types of fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and more,” he said.

“As part of the Country Fire Authority, we are fortunate to receive funding for our essential equipment and some ongoing operational costs.

“However, while we are grateful for the CFA’s support, brigade contributions and additional expenses must be sourced from other avenues.

“This year Ballan brigade wishes to purchase a new FCV (Field Command Vehicle).

“This vehicle will better equip the Ballan brigade to support and protect the community, particularly in areas where heavy vehicle access is limited.

“We have already received some amazing support from the Ballan and District Community Bank, who after hearing about our requirements immediately stepped forward with donations and support.

“We would like to thank the community for their generosity and their ongoing support.”

More calendars will be distributed at the Ballan Farmers Market by members tomorrow, Saturday 14 December.

“If you would like to get a calendar please come and see us and stay to enjoy all the market has to offer,” Mr Thorne said.

“Otherwise contact Ballan Fire Brigade via our Facebook page, or any one of our friendly members.”
