Calling all spooky writers

Spooky season has arrived, and Moorabool Libraries is commemorating the occasion with a Halloween writing competition for Moorabool residents aged 5 to 18, with some scary prizes up for grabs.

Entrants will be judged in one of two age categories: ages 5 to 11, and ages 12 to 18.

Those aged 5 to 11 are asked to write their own magic spell, with a minimum of four lines and a maximum of eight lines.

Entrants from the ages of 12 to 18 will need to think carefully about what words to use, with their task to write a two-sentence sinister story that gets the judges’ spines tingling.

Entries close on Halloween Night, Monday 31 October 2022. Winners will be announced on Tuesday 1 November 2022, and contacted via email.
