Celebrating Aussie comics
STAFF at Lerderderg Library are inviting the community to drop by and celebrate Aussie Comic Book Day.
The event, to be held Saturday 16 November from 10am until noon, will include a hands-on comic creation workshop with local creative Jonny Hall.
Moorabool Shire Council CEO Derek Madden said the event is about encouraging children who are interested in comics to get creative.
“This event is a celebration of the lasting appeal of comics, highlighting Australian creators and artists in this field,” he said.
“Local creator Jonny Hall will facilitate a special character design workshop to celebrate the day, guiding kids aged eight to 13 on how to bring characters to life, design and create heroes and villains and techniques to sketch their own comic book characters.
“This is a fun and informative event for budding artists who have an interest in comics.”
