Children need healthy and supportive environments
Victoria Police
The safety and welfare of children remains a primary concern for Victoria Police.
The year’s overarching message for National Child Protection Week is that ‘Every child, in every community, needs a fair go’.
It recognises that not every child has access to the resources they need to thrive and live a healthy, happy life.
Victoria Police and its Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Teams (SOCITs) are committed to the safety of all children.
With around 500 specialised investigators trained in receiving and assessing reports of child abuse, the teams work closely with other agencies and services for a holistic approach to criminal and therapeutic resolution.
Find your local SOCIT at www.police.vic.gov.au and search reporting-sexual-offences.
If a child is in immediate danger, always call Triple Zero (000).
