Collecting for little ones
A NEW community support program is calling on the Moorabool community to help them support families of children experiencing hardship.
Established earlier this year, ‘These Little Ones’ is collecting donations such as clothing, nappies, and toiletries to pass on to families in need.
Run out of Bacchus Marsh Christian Church, the program’s organisers are also hoping to expand the program to surrounding communities in the future.
One of the founders of These Little Ones, Holly Vale, said the program welcomed any support to help those struggling.
“These Little Ones is run by myself and a team of loving members at Bacchus Marsh Christian Church. We supply care packs for infants, children, and mothers in need,” she said.
“We have started working with the maternal health nurses enhanced team at Moorabool Shire Council, as well as our local churches, and we are looking at branching out to other organisations within Bacchus Marsh and its surrounding communities.
“We are open to applications from any other organisations who may benefit from our support program.
“We would love donations of clothing, sizes premature baby all the way up to size 5 children, cot linen, toiletries, bottles, nappies, wipes, swaddling wraps, booties and beanies, sanitary items for mothers, as well as new mother care creams for breastfeeding.”
Currently, donations are being accepted at the Maternal Health Nurse Clinic at 182 Halletts Way in Darley.
“Myself, Pastor Robyn, and the team here at These Little Ones are so honoured to be able to spread some much needed hope to those within our community who need it,” Ms Vale said.
