THE new round of Moorabool Shire Council Community Grants will open soon with drop-in sessions to help applicants prepare.
Not-for-profit grassroots groups are encouraged to apply for the grants program, which offers more than $270,000 annually.
Funds can be used for local activities, projects and events and mayor Cr Paul Tatchell encouraged organisations to apply.
“We had some fantastic applications for funding in our last round earlier this year which will result in amazing infrastructure and programs to benefit the community,” he said.
“Among the successful applicants were a community-organised Diwali Festival event, a new trailer for the Ballan Lions Club mobile barbecue and a series of open mic nights in Blackwood set to liven up the township over winter.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what the community wants to fund this time around.”
An online grant writing workshop will run on Tuesday 29 July from 6pm to 7pm and drop-in sessions are available on Monday 4 August in Bacchus Marsh, Tuesday 5 August in Ballan and Thursday 7 August in Gordon.
To register for a session, visit the Moorabool Shire Council website. Applications open Friday 1 August and close Sunday 31 August.
