Community Support Month kicks off
October is Community Support Month at Central Highlands Water (CHW), and the company is launching the ‘Community Water Bottle Partner’ support category this year.
CHW’s one-off support provides financial assistance to local charities, community and sporting groups, and not-for-profits to deliver events or projects with a water focus, or that benefit the greater community.
The community support programs promote water conservation, sustainability and the Choose Tap message.
CHW’s Managing Director, Jeff Haydon, said “CHW is determined to invest in the important work community organisations provide to our region”, particularly during Community Support Month.
“Our new Community Water Bottle Partner category is a two-year commitment, and a great way to minimise single-use water bottle purchases. Through the sale of CHW reusable water bottles, 100 per cent of all proceeds raised by the community will be donated to the partner,” Mr Haydon said.
The main fundraising event for the program is the Ballarat Begonia Festival, held over the March Labour Day long weekend. Bottles are also sold at CHW offices, Selkirk Stadium, and the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre.
Previous local partners in CHW’s community support program include WRISC Family Violence Support, Maryborough Energy Breakthrough, Royal South Street Society, Ballarat Swimming Club, and Clunes Agricultural wSociety.
Applications for both the Community Water Bottle Partner and one-off support category are open from October 1 to 31, and will be assessed during the first week of November.
