Changes will be occurring within Moorabool communities after council opened the ‘Community Grants’ cheque book totalling a whopping $177,337.
Ranging from $840 to $100,000 the 18-volunteer groups shared a variety of grants in five categories including Arts & Culture ($7,600), Community Strengthening ($23,850), Events ($4,000), Development ($138,887) and Sustainability & Environment Engagement ($3,000), at an official presentation in Ballan Council chambers.
Despite how big or small the projects are all valuable assets to each community’s worth, and fully funded in councils budget grants program.
Signage for nature walks, making garments and rugs for vulnerable people to redevelop the Bacchus Marsh harness track to an industry standard, were just a variety of projects that will be delivered.
The grants were part of Round 2 for 2018 Community Grants.
The next submissions for Round 1 for 2019 Community Grants opens on Friday 1 March, with community groups and organisations encouraged to apply at www.moorabool.vic.gov.au
