With industry and hospitality suffering staff shortages due to COVID-19 exposure, Moorabool Council has offered assurance that it is prepared for the post-lockdown era.

Speaking with the Moorabool News in January, Mayor Cr Tom Sullivan said, “in some businesses, 25 per cent of staff are away, probably for COVID-related reasons”, and similar circumstances could prove a problem for Council.

“As with many sectors and organisations, the impact of COVID-19 is being felt at Moorabool Shire. Council is supporting employees and workplace contacts who are affected by COVID-19 as the health and wellbeing of our employees and community is our primary focus; this is of course having an impact on resources,” he told the Moorabool News.

“However, Council employees continue to work tirelessly to deliver services and support our community. Council is well-prepared, and has detailed plans in place to ensure services continue to be delivered during these unprecedented and difficult times.”
