It’s been four long years since the inaugural event, but a local community dance will be back on this month, and tickets are free.

The Ballan & District Community Bush Dance will be back in town at the Ballan Mechanics Institute on Saturday 28 October, and those from Moorabool and beyond are invited to get their dancing shoes on and come on down.

Run by the Ballan and District CWA Branch, the dance promises to be a family-friendly night of fun, with music, door prizes, and both savoury and sweet treats.
Branch President Symone Barry is excited to welcome the community back for a twirl once again.

“Our 2023 event will be a free community event. All are welcome, ages one to 100 years young. This year we welcome back the Brumbies, excellent dance callers and musicians,” Ms Barry told the Moorabool News.

“We will be providing a light supper, with doors opening at 6pm, and dancing commencing from 6pm. Four long years have passed since we held our inaugural dance. I’d suggest people get in quick as tickets went fast in 2019.”

Online bookings can be made via Eventbrite until Saturday 21 October – just head to www.eventbrite.com.au, search Ballan, and click ‘Ballan & District Community Bush Dance’. If online bookings aren’t an option, you can also book by phone by contacting Symone Barry on 0439 637 294.

The Ballan and District CWA Branch also thanked the Ballan & District Community Bank Branch for their support of both the 2019 event, and the grant provided in 2020 which has made this year’s event possible.
