DAYLESFORD Cider’s Wild Oak has been named the best cider in the country at this year’s Australian Cider Awards.

More than 230 local and international entries were judged as part of the competition and Wild Oak was also named best traditional cider and best cider in show.

The business took home three gold medals, three best in class awards and four trophies at the awards ceremony held in Sydney.

Self-taught cider maker Jon Mackie has been developing his skills for 10 years and said he was thrilled with the results.

“I’m absolutely stoked to bring home so many awards,” he said.

Wild Oak has been named the best cider in the country.

“Honestly, blown away – what an unbelievable result, especially most successful small producer.

“Massive thanks to everyone at Cider Australia, and to all the sponsors for making it all possible, what an incredible night.”

Mr Mackie works alongside his wife Clare, and the pair currently serve 14 cider styles alongside special releases and non-alcoholic alternatives.
