APPLICATIONS have been reopened for the State Government’s newly extended $4.25 million Digital Jobs program.

The next tranche of the initiative will provide 1000 free places in industry-endorsed training courses over the next two years for workers to obtain the latest skills in construction and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Courses will cover computer-aided manufacturing, digital marketing, modern methods of construction, artificial intelligence, data analytics and more.

To date, the program has supported over 5500 Victorians to move into digital careers and helped upskill more than 500 workers in the manufacturing sector since its initial launch in 2021.

The training will typically be delivered part time over six weeks, with leadership workshops and on-the-tools training to generally be delivered over one day and in-person.

To be eligible to apply, businesses must have an operating presence in the Victorian manufacturing and/or construction sectors and have met all industrial relations obligations as an employer in accordance with the National Employment Standards.

The business must also be small to medium sized with less than 200 employees and be willing to make their nominated employee/s available for training in the selected training round.

“This program is ensuring Victoria’s workforce has the critical digital skills we need in key sectors like construction and advanced manufacturing now and into the future – supporting workers and businesses to keep pace with a rapidly evolving digital landscape,” said Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson.
