NATIONAL TRUST OF AUSTRALIA (VICTORIA)
Operating for over 170 years, Pentridge Prison was one of Victoria’s longest-running prisons.
Closed for 25 years, 2022 will see Pentridge’s historic bluestone cell blocks and site open to the public for the first time with a new visitor experience operated by the National Trust.
A site of incarceration and a workplace, Pentridge was designed to accommodate staff, prisoners and external visitors. A commanding presence, physically and mentally, Pentridge has witnessed untold stories.
Do you have an object relating to Pentridge you would like to share?
The National Trust is reaching out to the wider community, looking to borrow objects for display in the forthcoming Pentridge experience.
