Drive-in style movie events
If you live in Wallace or Greendale, get the popcorn and the picnic rug ready – two free movies are airing in your town soon.
The first Moorabool Outdoor Movie Night was held in Gordon on 27 February, with two more to be held at Wallace Reserve, Wallace and Egan’s Reserve, Greendale in March and April.
On Friday 11 March, coinciding with International Women’s Day, head down to Wallace Reserve to see Ride Like a Girl, which tells the incredible story of Michelle Payne, the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup.
The night begins at 5 pm, with a short cartoon from 7.30 pm, before the main film begins at 8.30.
On Friday 1 April (no it is not a joke), Sing 2 will be screening at Egan’s Reserve, a fun family movie in which the upbeat koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast plan a dazzling show at the entertainment capital of the world, Redshore City.
The event will begin at 5 pm, with a short cartoon at 6.45 while Sing 2 itself will start at 7.30.
Both film nights will feature entertainment, food trucks and pre-show activities to enjoy, so get down before the film starts if you can.
The film nights are free, but attendees must register due to venue capacity limits. For more information and to register, visit moorabool.vic.gov.au/mooraboolmovies.
The Moorabool Outdoor Movie Nights were funded by the State Government’s COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund 2021.
