EASTER is just around the corner, and so is a day of family fun that won an award at the latest Moorabool Shire Australia Day Awards.

The Bacchus Marsh EasterFest is taking place at Maddingley Park on Friday 29 March, with an Easter bonnet parade, performances, rides, amusements, and more in store.

And of course, the Easter egg hunt will be back once again for a range of age groups.

Dotty Hazell from MooraFun Inc, which runs the EasterFest, said it’s still sinking in for the volunteer team that their event won the 2024 Community Event of the Year award.

“We are expecting lots of people from the local community and those who use BMEF as a middle travel point for their family and friends Easter celebrations,” Ms Hazell said.

“Tickets for the hunts are on sale now at www.ticketebo.com.au/bmef and are selling quickly, we don’t hold any tickets for the day – only if there are any unsold tickets will they be available.

“With age groups from one year to 99+ years, there is a hunt for everyone, including an open age family hunt. The 1–3-year hunt has one responsible person allowed in, with each child at no charge.”

The Easter bunny is also set to stop by the EasterFest. With a large market and a dedicated food court also arranged.

Entry will be free with donations gratefully accepted, but all rides and amusements will be user pay.

A portion of ride operators’ takings will go towards MooraFun’s 100 per cent net proceeds donation to the Bacchus Marsh Hospital’s Urgent Care Department.

Since 2015, the group has donated close to $52,000 to the Bacchus Marsh Hospital.
