Emergency flood relief
Farmers are encouraged to plan their fodder needs ahead, especially considering potential further rainfall in the coming weeks – and grants are available to help.
The Primary Producer Flood Relief Program includes one-off $10,000 payments to primary producers directly affected by the floods which can be used to purchase fodder.
Flood-affected primary producers can also claim up to 50 per cent of transport costs (up to $15,000) that can be used for the transportation of fodder or movement of livestock to agistment or sale.
Also available are Primary Producer Concessional Loans to restore or replace damaged equipment and infrastructure, or to cover the short-term business expenses (up to $250,000).
