PLANNING for the future will be the focus of the Bacchus Marsh Ladies Probus Club’s next meeting on Thursday 7 May.
The meeting’s guest speaker will be Jessica Amberley of Legal Essentials, who is an experienced legal professional focusing exclusively on estate planning.
Amberley will discuss the importance of having key legal documents in place to help older people better understand and prepare for end-of-life planning.
“The sessions will cover topics including enduring power of attorney, wills and essential tips for estate planning strategies,” club publicity officer Barbara Nixon said.
“As people age, having clear legal arrangements becomes increasingly important to ensure personal wishes are respected and loved ones are supported.”
Nixon said Amberley would provide clear, accessible guidance on how to set up and manage important documents, avoid common pitfalls and make informed decisions.
“Attendees will gain practical tips and insights including understanding the role and importance of an enduring power of attorney; key considerations when creating or updating a will; strategies to simplify estate planning and reduce stress for family members; (and) common mistakes to avoid in end-of-life planning,” she said.
Nixon said attendees would also be able to ask questions of Amberley.
The meeting will take place at The Avenue Bowling Club and will start at 10am. A gold coin donation is requested at the door to help pay for a morning tea.
“The Bacchus Marsh Ladies Probus Club is a fun and social group of ladies who have a general meeting once a month, along with a guest speaker, as well as many social outings, lunches, dinners, trips and tours throughout the year,” Nixon said.
“Come along to meet new friends and hear our interesting guest speakers.”
