Punters, ponies and porsches will be part of this year’s Colliers International Ballarat Polo Cup.

The tournament, held at the Yaloak Polo Club on Ballan-Geelong Road, is a prestigious event on the Australian polo calendar and doubles as a family event, with country hospitality and entertainment.

Yaloak Polo Club Captain, Greg Keyte said activities will include a celebrity exhibition match, light horse troop, porsche parade and high goal polo with 14 to 15 goals.

Held annually, the 2017 event attracted over 1,000 spectators, with TV presenter Catriona Rowntree as guest umpire and famous jockeys Michelle Payne and Damien Oliver as guest riders.

Mr Keyte said spectators could expect to see some repeat high-profile attendances.

“We have Catriona Rowntree coming again which is great, as well as Michelle Payne and a number of other very high-profile people who will take part in the jockey versus trainers’ match,” he said.

“We have 20 teams competing in ten fast paced events across the whole day”.

The Colliers International Ballarat Polo Cup will be held this Sunday, February 11 from 11am.

General admission is $10 per person, with under-12s free.

The Yaloak Polo Club is located 10-kilometres south from the Western Highway Junction, Ballan.
