Fire Danger Period announced

The CFA has announced this summer’s Fire Danger Period for Moorabool and surrounding areas, and it begins next week.

Moorabool Shire, Ararat, Pyrenees Shire, Hepburn Shire, and Ballarat will all enter the Fire Danger Period at 1 am on Monday 19 December.

Several restrictions apply during the Fire Danger Period – for example, barbeques and campfires can’t be lit unless they follow five conditions including wind under 10 km/h, and burning off can only be done with a permit from CFA or a Fire Prevention Officer.
