Firewood collection season

Firewood collection season is still open, but only until June 30. Now is the time to plan your firewood and energy needs for next winter.

Due to last year’s storms, collection sites in the Wombat State Forest will have more firewood available during the autumn collection season.

We are balancing the need to ensure the fallen timber doesn’t pose a fire risk with the desire to provide the community with firewood and ensure fallen logs are still available to wildlife.

If you’re planning to visit a collection site in the Wombat State Forest, please be aware that local road closures may be in place as our storm recovery efforts continue.
