The role of town crier dates back centuries.
In Medieval Europe, town criers were the means of communication for notices such as proclamations and local bylaws, since most townspeople were illiterate.
But the tradition still exists today; with Moorabool’s own town crier, Gavin Barker, recently competing at the national championships.
