Free green waste drop-off
Council is accepting green waste for free at its transfer stations this month, as the bushfire season approaches.
Garden organics will be accepted free of charge at Council’s transfer stations at Osborne Street in Bacchus Marsh, Monteville Lane in Ballan, and Ballan-Egerton Road in Mount Egerton, to help clear green waste as the weather heats up.
There is no restriction on the volume of green waste that can be dropped off, as long as it’s received in a residential vehicle or trailer.
Residents will be required to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s licence or utility bill.
Tree stumps, branches over 200mm in diameter, green waste mixed with household garbage, building materials, recyclables or any other contaminant, and commercial customers will not be accepted.
The free green waste drop-off was introduced in response to over 700 community responses to Moorabool’s Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030.
